Yes. 8:00AM - 12:00 PM.

Will the parts be ordered before I drop off my vehicle? 
Yes. We order your parts as soon as you give Schmidt's Collision approval to work on your vehicle. This enables us to start working on your vehicle as soon as you bring it in. This also allows us to return your vehicle to you as quickly as possible.

Is there a warranty on the repairs done to my vehicle? 
Yes. Schmidts Collision guarantees all paint & collision workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle. A written warranty is given to you when you pick up your vehicle.

If my vehicles frame is damaged, is my vehicle a total loss? 
No. Your car is only a total loss if the damages exceed the value of the vehicle, which is determined by your insurance company. With cars changing, most have what is called a unibody (where the frame and body are molded into one) structure. Our technicians, teamed with our state of the art equipment, can return your vehicle to its factory specifications. If the damages are to an extreme that we can't repair it, we simply replace that portion of the vehicle.

Can you match my vehicles paint color?
Yes. With our extensive mixing system we can precisely match your cars paint. Schmidts Collision has made a considerable investment in the best paint system available, and our refinish technicians undergo constant training to ensure that our paint will match your vehicles.

Can I wash or wax my car when I get it home?
Yes. We suggest that if you are going to wash your car that you do so with a mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. For the two weeks we ask that you do not take your vehicle to a commercial car wash, due to the stiff brushes or super jets that can possibly scratch your finish. We also recommend that you do not wax your vehicle for the first 30 days to ensure that your car's paint has had sufficient time to cure. The first 30 days are the most critical for your cars finish. The care you give your vehicle determines how your paint will look many years down the road.

Do I have to pay a deductible when I pick up my vehicle? 
Yes. If you are required to pay a deductible, that will need to be paid to Schmidts Collision at the time repairs are completed, and when you pick up your vehicle. 
  
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash,  Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Money Orders and Insurance checks.

Can I get a ride home when I drop off my vehicle?      
Yes. We have our concierge service. If you live within 5 miles, we will be more than happy to drop you off at your house or work when you leave your vehicle with us. And if need we can also come pick you up when your vehicle's repairs are completed.

Do you offer rental car assistance?     
Yes. If you have rental car coverage through insurance, we will use it.  If you do not have rental car coverage, courtesy vehicles are available.

CAN THE INSURANCE COMPANY MAKE ME TO GO TO THEIR CLAIMS CENTER FOR AN ESTIMATE?
No. You can drop the vehicle off at the shop of your choice and they will schedule an insurance adjuster to come out. If you do go to their claims center, accept the estimate and the check they give you. However, do not sign anything that states you accept their check as payment in full. The insurance company realizes the repair shop may call with additional damage costs.

WHAT IF AN INSURANCE COMPANY REFUSES TO WORK WITH THE SHOP OF MY CHOICE? 
By law, an insurance company cannot refuse your request, and must negotiate with the shop of your choice. It is in both parties' best interest to get your vehicle repaired and back to you as quickly as possible, without charging you extra. The Insurance Commissioner does not tolerate delaying the repair through unlawful practices.

DO I NEED THREE ESTIMATES? 
No. New York law states your only obligation is to choose the shop of your choice, and inform the insurance company where the vehicle is going.

What is a clear coat?
Most modern car finishes consist of a primer, a base coating that contains the color, and a protective clear coat. Clear coats are simply clear paints applied over a color base coat. This outer clear coat adds UV protection that helps prevent the sun's rays from fading out the base paint.

How long does a car wax last?
There is no standard answer to how long a car wax will last. There are many variables that influence the durability of wax such as: type and color of paint, condition of paint, environmental conditions, hours kept outdoors, quality of wax used, and how often the car is washed. We recommend using a quality wax every 3 to 4 months, or as needed.

Do I need to pay up front when I drop off my car?
No, payment is not required until you pick up your vehicle, and then you will only be required to pay the deductible (if it applies).

Does my insurance company pay for repairs directly or do I pay and then receive reimbursement?
It's your choice. By signing a "Direction of Pay" form that we provide, you authorize us to receive payment directly from your insurance company. Most people prefer that method. If you choose that option, you are only responsible for paying us the deductible portion of the repair bill. Again, it's up to you.

How much does an estimate cost?
The estimate is completely free and takes about 20 minutes.

How long will repairs take?
Each situation is unique but our experienced estimators use very sophisticated systems to determine the extent of the damage to your car. They are quick and efficient at estimating the cost of the repairs and how long the repairs will take. However, occasionally once the repair process has begun, previously undetectable conditions are revealed that require additional repair time.
